SMS/TEXT MESSAGING TERMS AND PRIVACY POLICY

This SMS/Text Messaging Terms and Privacy Policy explains how Magnus Direct Primary Care, LLC, also referred to as “Magnus DPC,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” uses text messaging and protects information related to text message communications.

Consent to Receive Text Messages

By providing your mobile phone number and consenting to receive text messages, you authorize Magnus DPC to send SMS/text messages to the number provided.

Messages may include:

Appointment reminders.

Scheduling information.

Office updates.

Administrative messages.

Account or billing reminders.

Care coordination messages.

Limited health-related messages.

Membership-related messages.

Wellness or service-related information, when permitted by law and your communication preferences.

Message frequency varies.

Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive promotional or non-essential text messages is not required as a condition of receiving medical care.

Text Messaging and Privacy

Text messaging may not be fully secure. Text messages may be viewed by others who have access to your phone, mobile account, or device.

Because of this risk, we try to limit the amount of sensitive health information included in text messages.

By consenting to text messaging, you acknowledge the privacy risks of SMS communication and authorize Magnus DPC to communicate with you by text message.

Existing patients should use the secure patient portal for medical questions whenever possible.

Not for Emergencies

Text messaging is not for emergencies or urgent medical issues.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Do not use text messaging to report urgent symptoms, chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, suicidal thoughts, severe allergic reactions, or other emergency concerns.

Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time.

To opt out, reply STOP to any text message from us.

You may also communicate your request by contacting the office directly.

We will honor reasonable opt-out requests as promptly as possible and no later than required by applicable law.

After you opt out, you may receive one final confirmation message confirming that your request has been processed.

Opting out of text messages may limit our ability to send appointment reminders, office updates, or other convenient communications. You may still contact us by phone, patient portal, or email.

Information We Collect for SMS Messaging

Magnus DPC is not responsible for charges, errors, delays, or failures in SMS delivery caused by your mobile carrier, device, or third-party systems.

Changes to SMS Terms

We may update these SMS/Text Messaging Terms periodically. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Continued use of SMS/text messaging after updates means you accept the updated terms.
